Presenting Teddy the Duck

This is Teddy, the duck I am sponsoring for a year at the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary. With the funds I raised through Panda With Cookie in November and December I am able to help feed him for a year. The sanctuary has a variety of different animals you can sponsor and I know I will be raising funds again come November. Here is a bit of Teddy's story:

This is Teddy and he is a very serious yet incredibly cute Pekin Duck! Sadly, it is not uncommon for some people to misguidedly purchase chicks, ducklings and bunnies in
the mail for Easter, and then want to get rid of the animals after the holidays. WFAS got a call from a man in NYC, who had found a duckling left all by itself on the side of the FDR drive. That was the duckling we named Teddy.

Now, Teddy has bonded with Quincy, a female duck also abandoned in the city, and they are happy in their new home. Teddy is her loyal guardian, and runs to put himself in front of her when strangers come too close. They have adjusted to grass and sunshine, and their feathers have gone from yellow to pure white. They also are enjoying
the pond built for them which is still so new - it is the first time in their lives they have had a large body of water to swim in!
