Friday Fun Halloween Theme: Pumpkin Roll

I love a good pumpkin roll. I have not seen a vegan version floating around until this spring when I stumbled upon one in the Sweet Vegan book. Comes an autumnal October Sunday and it was time to try my hand at pumpkin rollin'. My biggest concern was that the cake would crack when it was unrolled to spread on the filling and, sure enough, crack it did.
We added some extra spices and this thing tastes amazing. The large crack on top is only one of about 3 so you might not want to take it to the Pretty Food Shindig you were planning on but it would fit right in at the Hell Yeah Tasty Food Get Down.

Panda With Whoopie Pie

Since I believe strongly in handmade and supporting independent crafters, I want to start writing some small reviews of the things I buy on etsy or locally.
This week I received an order of vegan apple caramel whoopie pies from nubbycakes on etsy. They were absolutely delectable and delightful. I got 6 of the pies, each individually wrapped and packed well in a box with a small reusable freezer pack. A helpful page of tips let me know how best to store them and also let me know that all the packaging in the box was recyclable, which I really appreciate from a seller.

And the apple caramel deliciousness! You can't go wrong with a whoopie pie, but when you add in vegan and mostly organic I am hooked. I don't usually buy a lot of baked goods online, but I am so glad I gave these a try. Nubbycakes is also a member of the EtsyVeg and VeganEtsy Teams, so you're supporting someone committed to delicious vegan goods.

Weekend Sale!

Fall is arriving, leaves are turning and kids are heading back to school. In celebration of all these things I am having a weekend tote bag sale in my etsy shop Panda With Cookie. The EtsyVeg Team has held a weeklong Kickoff to Fall event that ends on Sunday. So from now until Sunday at midnight all plain cotton tote bags are $15 in my shop.
And don't forget that all tote bags that were a deal of the day this week still have special pricing until Sunday at midnight. Enjoy!
