This month I'm focusing on some minimalist tablescapes. The past few years have been all about the over the top, fancy, even perhaps expensive tablescape. But now we are toning things down and getting right to the heart of what really matters. Like this lovely display that has a can of beans with can opener. It says "Open it your damn self" while also saying "Get your own spoon".

If that is a can of chickpeas, I think it's the best decoration ever. They should be mandatory.
This is so lovely. I may try to replicate it with one of the near-expired cans from my recent trip to Amazing Savings. But I'm not sure it will have the same Portland feel to it.
A world of possibilities! Love this.
This remains one of my favorite MoFo themes ever. We all need help with tablescapes, and you are the expert!
You can also repurpose the empty can of beans for a rustic cocktail! Rinse out the can, fill with vodka, and garnish with a bean or two. Plant strong.
Hahaha! Great. I love minimalism. I was invited to a Thansgiving once where the host and hostess (aka parental unit) had a fight and there was a can of unopened pumpkin on the counter and no other food when I arrived. Oh and some empty bottles. Ah fond memories.
I love this. I think I need a print of it on my wall.

You make me smile! I'll have to remember this for days when I'm tired of cooking for people. That will happen before this month is over.
Johnp, it works especially well if those cans are also dented.
Totally brilliant as always.
Breathtaking ambiance!
It's magic. You know.
I have missed these! Also, this one kind of complements my own lazy MoFo theme of nothing but toast. ;)
Snort.
