Contest has ended! I will update later today with my winners! Thanks y'all!
I'm keeping the mix in my fridge for the week to just shape and fry up for a quick dinner any night.
Also, thanks to the generosity of Celine and Tami and their publisher Fair Winds Press, I have a copy of Vegan Sandwiches Save the Day to give away today! Fun! To enter, simply leave a comment on this post creating the name for a Sandwich Superhero and what their special power is. Contest ends on Saturday, October 20th at 11 pm (PDT). The magical Harvey Cat will pull a random number from a hat and I'll email the winner the next day. Make sure there is some contact info in your comment cause if I can't find the winner I will draw again the next day. Support vegan authors! Support your local bookstores!

This givaway probably isn't open to people outside the US, but I just wanted to say that I love beetroot burgers!
PBJ Man has the superpower of sticking evildoers' tongues to the roofs of their mouths, rendering them speechless.
My 7-year old helped with this...
"The Nitro Cooker" - feeding and teaching families about wholesome, nutritious food.
Special Powers: X-ray Baking Vision (she can cook things AND see through walls). She also stops slaughterhouses and factory farms with a single word.
Lish
Monsieur Croque - okay, he's actually a supervillain, and he shoots melted cheese at unsuspecting vegans. But! The Incredible Nooch is there to protect us. When she gets angry, she, um, puffs up and spins around really fast and changes all cheese in a five-mile radius to nutritional yeast.
:D My email address is girlinthegarden AT gmail DOT com.
I have the book already -- but I am here to support beets and barley!
Portobello Po'Boys - coming through in the dark as class avengers. Bringing justice through compost and the spores of the streets.
I need lunch Obviously.
I just had a sandwich for lunch! My sandwich superhero would be Carb-Grrrl, her special super-power would be to make bread appear everywhere!! Cold and tired? KA-POW, Fruit toast to the rescue! Hungry and coeliac? No problem, gluten free loaf to the rescue!
Monte Cristo Man! Able to join together sweet and savory through the power of battering and frying.
The Wacky WaffleWich! Using her power to transcend the meal paradigm to bring you yummy food sandwiched between carbs no matter what time of day it is.
My sandwhich superhero would be the Avenging Artichoke. His superpower would be a bristly thistle attack.
Captain Pickles! Sprays you with her highly acidic brine! Then you melt.
Open Face, member of the Veganaise Avengers, travels the world opening minds and palates.
Open Face, member of the Veganaise Avengers, travels the world opening minds and palates.
Bahn Miaow, whose superpower is creating delicious broth at will, and then dunking villains in it until they submit. Also she is a cat.
Reuben Ray Gun sets fires ablaze with his crooked little finger.

kittee
Daiya the Griller, with his sidekick Dill Boy. Their super power is making people everywhere love them with one taste!
The dynamic duo, the Hammer and Pickle. Able to bring down the law in one tasty bite!
OMG the sandwich book! I swear I can't stop thinking about it ever since I saw the delicious Bierocks. At first I thought my sandwich superhero would be mysterious adrogynous Captain Guacamole, but then I couldn't decide on a superpower, so today I'm going with Mustard Man, because life needs more Zing (that's his superpower, adding ZING). Oh listen to me - it's probably still the cold meds talking.
Monsieur Croque. He's a giant frog who goes around berating people eating ham sandwiches.
I was thinking Monte Cristo Man too, but mine's power would be the ability to make people say, "You put WHAT on that sandwich now?"
Hulk Hoagie - with the super power to sandwich anything and everything between his bulky baguette build!
Please disregard this comment if the contest is US/Canada-only, I'm in Europe.
My superhero: Captain Falafel. His special power is that he can appear just around the corner to wherever you are when your rumbling belly tells you that you need him.
ha, ha, even without bread. So true! Such a good book.
LaserVegan...with laser heat vision. Able to sizzle portobellos with perfect grill marks, carve perfect tomato slices with scalpel-like precision and melt vegan cheesy toppings all at a single glance. And toast the buns if need be. :)
Of course it would be cool if she could have the usual superhero packet of powers (x-ray vision, all-frequency hearing and lightning fast flying speed) so she could circle the globe, find captive animals and set them free. That would be her ultimate mission!
Slider Man. Named for mini burgers, but loves all sandwiches. His power is that anything he touches turns into a sandwich.
Oooh I want to play.
Dagwood Defender
defends mile high skyscraping sandwiches filled with every vegan condiment and veggie knownn to man kind.
I am cracking up so much at some of the other replies. Mine is lame in comparison.
My sandwich superhero would be Tu-No the Wonder Boy. He wears a ryebread helmet and he saves tuna fish from destruction by flying at high speeds around the globe delivering kelp-flavoured chickpea salad to anyone even thinking about tuna-fish sandwiches.
Also, here's a lung.
Hope I'm not to late to enter. Hmmm....Master Melt. I never had a tuna melt before I went vegan, but I'm sure a vegan version would beat the pants off the original.
My superhero is Reuben Man - Active with Cultures and able to bring happiness everywhere with his Special Sauce.
The Peppadewd, would spice up boring sandwiches by adding those awesome little sweet but tangy peppadew peppers. This would make me happy.
i can eat sandwiches everyday! Barbie-Q, k-bob man.. i know .. lame:)
Avocadro...would liven up dull sandwiches with a spread of avocado.
My sandwich superhero would be The Flying Fluffernutter. I've never actually eaten one but they were all the rage when I was in elementary school. For those who may not know, it's a peanut butter and marshmallow spread sandwich. His superpower would be putting villains into a diabetic coma.
Yummy Umami - adds miso paste, yeast extract spread, olives, and umeboshi for savouriness.
