Mr. Bran Bakes with Bisquick

Mr. Bran, top chef, has decided to help me out for Vegan Mofo by offering up some of his favorite recipes! Now, as we know thanks to Calpernia Addams, there is no shame in Bisquick. So each Thursday Mr. Bran will don his wee chef hat and mix up some breakfast in the kitchen while I laze about on my chaise and get lightly fanned by the pool boy.

Today's recipe is super easy. Mix
2 c Bisquick
1 c soymilk
1/2 c soy yogurt

and then ladle onto a hot pan and cook. Flip when the pancake is gently bubbling on top. So easy even a cat as lazy as Mr. Bran can do it!

Verdict: Not bad. I ate these with apricot and ginger preserves which were good, but I prefer my Vegan with a Vengeance pancakes. But for Mr. Bran, I am pretty impressed.

Check out Mr Bran and those boyish good looks, and what good fashion sense! It appears he has the fluffiest pancakes in all the land, just what I have been searching for!

Amazing! Also, is it wrong of me to comment on the Hitleresque-style of Bran's fur moustache? If so pretend I didn't say it.

It isn't easy to get Bran to cook but with the miracle of vegan insta-foods like Bisquick, he can measure and pour with ease!

One day I will take the time to put Mr. Bran on that hitler cat website. Although I have been told his is more of a Chaplin approximation.

Nice job, Mr. Bran!

How lucky you are to have an in-house Mr. Bran AND a poolboy. It must be very good indeed to rule the panda with cookie empire.

This entry also marks my first notice that Bisquick is vegan, which might just change EVERYTHING.

oh my god! Mr. Bran in a chef hat is A#1++ awesome!

plus, pancakes!

Yes, I think the results have to be adjusted for the fact that a cat made them. Of course, following further from Calpernia, one might find the pancakes better if eaten drunk at 3 am.

Does Mr. Bran live in that box?

Mr. Bran!!!! I am all about some Bisquick pancakes!

heh. Mr. Bran wouldn't fit in that box.
And I must admit that I never use Bisquick but Mr. Bran so wanted to help out with vegan mofo that I bought a box just so he could have his special Thursdays.
There's nothing exciting about 'panda eats cereal for breakfast' Thursdays. And no alliteration.

Evie and Arnold made these pancakes for me this morning. They fought a bit over who got to measure what, since there are an uneven number of ingredients, but they worked it out. These pancakes were deeelicious! Thanks Mr. Bran!
